Case Study of a Bassoon

Plan, section and elevation of a Bassoon at full scale (pencil on Strathmore 60” x 17”). Musical interpretation based on dance notation and drawn to Beethoven’s Sonata in E (ink on Strathmore 44” x 30”). Musical drawings were then transposed into three dimensions. The model represents a music hall that encompasses one city block of downtown Philadelphia. Upper levels of the main building house artist studios and training facilities. Restaurants and public spaces with gardens are below (bass wood and plywood 48” x 48” x 60”).
